Around the league

Story tools:

• New York Jets rookie quarterback Erik Ainge was suspended four games for violating the league’s policy on steroids and related substances. Ainge, already on injured reserve and out for the season with a foot injury, is not allowed to be with the team or at its facility during the suspension.

• Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy said there’s a good chance cornerback Kelvin Hayden will return to the starting lineup for Sunday night’s game at San Diego. The status of safety Bob Sanders, who missed last week’s game with Houston, probably won’t be determined until just before gametime.
