Edwards, the third overall pick in the 2005 draft, has yet to make a big impact. In seven games with New York, he has yet to have a 100-yard game or catch more than five passes in any game.
Key plays: Rian Lindell picked up where he left off last week by booting a long field goal to cap the opening drive. Lindell, who connected from 56 yards last week, made a 49-yarder 4:15 into the game. The key gain on the drive was a 38-yard pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Lee Evans.
Cleveland Browns fans got a huge laugh out of the first quarter of Thursday’s game. Jets receiver Braylon Edwards, who was shipped out of Cleveland in part due to his inconsistent hands, dropped a sure touchdown late in the quarter.
The Jets ran a play-action pass on first down from their own 16-yard line. The Bills had a mix-up in the secondary, and Edwards was wide open at the Buffalo 40. But the ball bounced off his hands and fell incomplete.
