Steenhuis MVP of All-Star game
DENVER—Mark Steenhuis of the Buffalo Bandits won Most Valuable Player honors in the National Lacrosse League’s All-Star game on Saturday night. He had seven goals and six assists as he led the East to a 27-21 win over the West in the Pepsi Center.
It was the third time in his career that Steenhuis had taken the All-Star award, a record for the league.
Steenhuis had four Buffalo teammates on the East squad. John Tavares picked up four assists, Chris White had a goal and two assists, and Roger Vyse had a goal and an assist. In goal, Ken Montour allowed 11 goals with 23 saves in 30 minutes of play.
The Bandits return to action this Saturday when they face the Rochester Knighthawks in Blue Cross Arena. Their next home game is March 21 against Portland.
