The Buffalo Bandits’ Anthony Cosmo, Rochester’s Matt Vinc and Edmonton’s Aaron Bold were all named finalists for the National Lacrosse League’s Goaltender of the Year around.
Cosmo set a new league record with 752 saves this year and also led the NLL in minutes played (1,063:36). He’s the longest-tenured active goalie in the league. He previously won the award in 2007.
Vinc, the defending Goaltender of the Year for the Knighthawks, who won the league title this season, finished second in the league this year in save percentage (.798) and tied for second in wins with a 12-3.
He played at Canisius College.
Bold and the Rush allowed a league-low 157 goals this season.
The winners will be announced Sept. 21.
