LOUISVILLE — Brandon Knight earned his third save to highlight a strong performance by the Buffalo bullpen as the Bisons snapped a three-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory Wednesday night over the Louisville Bats.

Tim McNab and Knight disappointed a Louisville Slugger Stadium crowd of 7,299 by shutting out the Bats on five hits over the last six innings.

Knight kept the tying run from crossing in the eighth after Darnell McDonald led off with a double and moved up on a wild pitch with no outs.

In their last five victories the Bisons, who are last in the International League North Division, have scored no more than two runs.

Wednesday, Buffalo never trailed, jumping in front when leadoff man Argenis Reyes homered on the second pitch of the game.

Bisons starter Kyle Snyder, making his first start since June 15, drove in the winning run in the second with a single that deflected off third baseman Wes Bankston. That scored Nick Evans, who had reached on an error to start the inning.

McDonald, who is 7 for 11 (.636) with four RBIs, two home runs and two doubles in the series so far, doubled home the Louisville run in third.

Snyder pitched four innings before giving way to McNab (4-2), who pitched three innings to pick up the win. Knight took over in the eighth.

The teams will complete their season series — Louisville leads, 4-3 — tonight (Radio 1520, 7:05). Right-hander Nelson Figueroa (6-4, 2.32), who has won his last six decisions for the Herd, is scheduled to oppose left-hander Ben Jukich (6-4, 4.62) of the Bats.
