The run on offensive tackles will be a key trend to watch tonight in the first round of

the first-ever prime-time NFL Draft.

The tackle position is good at the top of the draft, but it tails off fast. There could be

four tackles taken in the first eight picks, and by the middle of the second round there will

not be any start-right-away tackle prospects left.

If a left tackle the Bills like is not still on the board at the ninth overall pick, don't

expect them to force the issue and take one. Georgia Tech's Derrick Morgan heads a list of

"best-available-players" they could take.

Here's a forecast for tonight's first round:

1. St. Louis. Needs: Everything. The Rams have lost 42 of their last 48 games. The pick:

Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma.

2. Detroit. Needs: DT, DE, RB, CB, OT. Coach Jim Schwartz is a defensive guy who can use

the second coming of Al Haynesworth. The pick: Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska.

3. Tampa Bay. Needs: DT, DE, WR, CB, G. The Bucs ranked last in the NFL in run defense last

year. The pick: Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma.

4. Washington. Needs: OT, S, CB, RB, WR. New QB Donovan McNabb needs protection. The 'Skins

ranked fifth worst in sacks per attempt allowed last year. The pick: Russell Okung, OT,

Oklahoma State.

5. Kansas City. Needs: S, ILB, OLB, OT, WR. Word is the Chiefs want to trade down. But with

whom? It's hard to find a partner. The pick: Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa.

6. Seattle. Needs: LT, DE, S, RB, WR. New coach Pete Carroll is running the show. The 'Hawks need a left tackle, because Walter Jones might retire. But Carroll's close pal, Monte Kiffin, coached defense at Tennessee last year. The pick: Eric Berry, S, Tennessee.

7. Cleveland. Needs: S, CB, WR, OLB, RB, QB. New major domo Mike Holmgren paid Jake

Delhomme $7 million for this year and likes backup Seneca Wallace. So cross out QB. If Seattle

passes on Berry, the Browns will take him. The pick: Earl Thomas, S, Texas.

8. Oakland. Needs: OT, QB, WR, OLB, DT, DE. The Raiders desperately need a left tackle.

They would be lucky if the draft fell this way. The pick: Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma.

9. Buffalo. Needs: LT, QB, OLB, WR, NT. In the unlikely event Oklahoma's Williams is on the

board, the Bills will take him. I can't see them spending the extra money to pick Jimmy

Clausen unless they are 110 percent sold on him. I don't think that's the case. If the top OTs

are gone, the Bills could go in many directions. Derrick Morgan is the best pass-rushing

defensive end in the draft. He had seven sacks in 2008 and 12.5 in 2009. He could play with

his hand on the ground or standing up. He's a mature guy, with high marks for character. He's

a safe pick. Bills coach Chan Gailey recruited him to Tech. The pick: Derrick Morgan, DE,

Georgia Tech.

10. Jacksonville. Needs: OLB, MLB, S, G, C. Here is another team that would be eager to

trade down. Look for the Jags to take the best available player. The pick: Rolando McClain,

LB, Alabama.

11. Denver. Needs: ILB, C, WR, G, NT. Denver has three picks in the first 45 after trading

Brandon Marshall. They can get a wideout in the second round. The pick: Maurkice Pouncey, C,

Florida.

12. Miami. Needs: OLB, NT, LG, S. Georgia Tech's Morgan is a prime prospect here if he

falls this far. Nose tackle Jason Ferguson is 36 and is serving an eight-game suspension.

Nevertheless, Bill Parcells values a pass rusher here more. The pick: Jason Pierre-Paul, DE,

South Florida.

13. San Francisco. Needs: OT, CB, OLB, NT, WR. Nate Clements has three INTs in the last two

years and was replaced in the starting lineup last season. The pick: Joe Haden, CB, Florida.

14. Seattle. This team ranked 25th in scoring and 32nd in time of possession each of the

past two seasons. The pick: C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson.

15. N.Y. Giants. Needs: MLB, OT, DT, DE. The Big Blue defense fell from fifth to 30th in

points allowed last year. The pick: Brandon Graham, DE, Michigan.

16. Tennessee. Needs: DE, CB, LB, KR. The Titans would take Pierre-Paul or probably Graham.

They like to stockpile defenders in the front seven. Sergio Kindle is possible but a better

player is in their backyard. The pick: Dan Williams, DT, Tennessee.

17. San Francisco. Here is a good spot for Clausen. If he doesn't go here, he drops way

down. The pick: Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers.

18. Pittsburgh. Needs: CB, DL, OL. Pouncey could be the one if he falls this far. No

Steeler corner had an INT in the first 15 games last year. The pick: Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise

State.

19. Atlanta. Needs: LB, C, DE, WR, DT. This team could go in many directions. The pick:

Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech.

20. Houston. Needs: RB, CB, DT, FS, C/G. The Texans' offense, which ranked fourth last

year, would be scary with a big back. The pick: Ryan Mathews, RB, Fresno State.

21. Cincinnati. Needs: TE, S, LB, DL. The Bengals could go in many directions. They haven't

shied away from character risks in the past, and one at WR is on the board (see next pick).

But Marvin Lewis likes Southern Cal guys. The pick: Taylor Mays, S, USC.

22. New England. Needs: OLB, WR, ILB, TE, RB. The recent signing of Damione Lewis makes us

shy away from a 3-4 defensive end. The pick: Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State.

23. Green Bay. Needs: OT, CB, OLB, S, RB, TE. A complement to Clay Matthews is possible but

why not fill a bigger need? The pick: Charles Brown, OT, Southern Cal.

24. Philadelphia. Needs: C, CB, S, DE, RB, LB. Eagles need a center badly but traded away

starting CB Sheldon Brown. The pick: Kareem Jackson, CB, Alabama.

25. Baltimore. Needs: TE, DL, CB, WR, S. The Ravens could take Williamsville's Rob

Gronkowski. This pick is based on the hunch that New England passes on a prime 3-4 end. The

pick: Jared Odrick, DE, Penn State.

26. Arizona. Needs: NT, ILB, QB, OLB. A nose tackle would make a lot of sense. Maybe later.

The pick: Sean Weatherspoon, OLB, Missouri.

27. Dallas. Needs: LT, S, G, WR. Jerry Jones never has spent a first-rounder on the OL but

will be fortunate to get the top guard this late. The pick: Mike Iupati, G, Idaho.

28. San Diego. Needs: RB, NT, S, OT, TE, CB. Big Jamaal Williams is gone. The pick:

Terrence Cody, DT, Alabama.

29. N.Y. Jets. Needs: S, DL, LB, CB. The pick: Devin McCourty, CB, Rutgers.

30. Minnesota. Needs: CB, OL, LB, DT, RB, QB. Brett Favre won't play forever. The pick:

Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame.

31. Indianapolis. Needs: DE, LT, CB, LB, DT. This player may go sooner. The pick: Rodger

Saffold, OT, Indiana.

32. New Orleans. Needs: OLB, DE, DT, FS, TE. Saints go best available player. The pick:

Jerry Hughes, DE, Texas Christian.
