Free agent tight end Joe Klopfenstein re-signed with the Buffalo Bills on Thursday to an undisclosed contract.

Klopfenstein spent five weeks with Buffalo in 2009, catching one pass for 11 yards against Indianapolis in the season finale. He was inactive for four games.

He has played in 49 games with 38 starts in his four-year career, catching 34 passes for 397 yards and two touchdowns. The 6-foot-5, 262-pound Colorado product entered the NFL as a second-round (46th overall) draft choice of the Rams in 2006.
