Updated: August 21, 2010, 9:42 AM
The University at Buffalo's 2010 football schedule was released Monday. It includes trips to
Baylor and Connecticut, two of the six opponents that advanced to bowl games in 2009.
The Jeff Quinn era kicks off Sept. 2 at UB Stadium against Football Championship Subdivision Rhode Island. After that, the Bulls play four of their next five games on the road starting at Baylor (Sept. 11). UB hosts Central Florida (Sept. 18) before trips to UConn (Sept. 25) and
Mid-American Conference opponents Bowling Green (Oct. 2) and Northern Illinois (Oct. 16), which should be the favorite in the MAC West Division.
UB then hosts two MAC East rivals, Temple (Oct. 23) and Miami (Oct. 30). The Bulls' first nationally television game of the season comes at Ohio (Nov. 4) followed by a home game against Ball State (Nov. 12), a rematch of the 2008 MAC Championship game which will be televised by ESPNU.
UB closes the regular season home schedule against Eastern Michigan (Nov. 20) before a trip to Akron (Nov. 26), a game that will appear on either ESPNU or ESPN360.com.
In addition to Baylor and UConn, Ohio, Temple, Bowling Green and UCF advanced to bowl games in 2009.
"I am excited by the outstanding test that our 2010 schedule will present to our football program," Quinn said. "We have an extremely challenging non-conference schedule that will have us fully prepared to compete for a MAC Championship in October and November. We are excited to have six home games and I cant wait to be on the sidelines as the head coach of the Buffalo Bulls on September 2nd when Rhode Island comes to town."
