Bandits release Powless, Shannon
Updated: August 21, 2010, 9:27 AM
The Buffalo Bandits have completed some roster moves in the wake of the team's 0-4 start, its worst in history. The Bandits have moved defenseman Joe Smith and forward Kyle Clancy from the practice squad to the active roster.
Meanwhile, forwards Delby Powless and A.J. Shannon have been released. Buffalo also has
re-signed defenseman Clay Hill and placed him on the evaluation period list.
Smith (Orchard Park) has spent the past two seasons with the Bandits, scoring two points.
Clancy was the team's first draft choice in 2009.
In addition, Bandits coach Darris Kilgour said that star forward John Tavares expects to miss
the next three weeks of the season. Taveres has not played a game this season because of a
calf injury.
