Bills put Bell on IR, promote Ramsey
Updated: August 21, 2010, 9:13 AM
The wait for offensive left tackle Demetrius Bell's injured knee to get better is over. The Bills today placed their second-year starter on injured reserve and promoted Andre Ramsey to
the 53-man roster from the practice squad, the team said in a press release.
Bell had missed the last three games because of a knee injury. He played in eight games after opening the year as a
first-time starter, replacing the released Langston Walker.
Ramsey will wear No. 75.
Ramsey, a 6-foot-5, 322-pound Ball State product, has spent the past 10 weeks on Buffalo's
practice squad. He originally joined the Bills practice squad in Week Three. Ramsey entered
the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Seahawks following the 2009 draft. He was
released by the Seahawks prior to the start of the 2009 season.
Ramsey started all four years at left tackle for Ball State, which lost to UB last year as
a nationally ranked team in the MAC Championship Game. He earned all-Mid-American Conference
(MAC) honors as a senior in 2008. He is a native of Portsmouth, NH.
