The News' football writers assign grades for different aspects of the game.

Grading the Bills

Running game

Jackson made the most of being featured back, running for 73 yards and two TDs. Fitzpatrick

had 50 yards with 31-yard TD. Grade: A.

Passing game

Fitzpatrick had another strong game, throwing for 246 yards despite heavy rush. Showed guts

calling audible on 51-yard TD bomb to Owens late. Grade: B.

Run defense

Williams had 115 yards, but only 36 after halftime. Dolphins averaged just 2.9 on 18

second-half carries. Grade: B-.

Pass defense

Got consistent pass rush with four men, intercepted four passes, didn't allow a pass play

over 20 yards. Terrific day. Grade: A.

Special teams

Lindell atoned for earlier miss with game-winner from 56 yards. Moorman set stage by

pinning Dolphins at 2-yard line. Grade: A.

Coaching

Grading the Dolphins

Running game

Committed to run, but faded in second half when passing game struggled. Williams had third

straight 100-yard game. Grade: B.

Passing game

Henne played like a backup, making a number of dubious throws and getting picked off three

times. Williams' halfback pass was regrettable.Grade: D.

Run defense

Were surprisingly vulnerable on the edges, especially on Fitzpatrick 31-yard TD scamper.

Did poor job of wrapping up Jackson. Grade: C-.

Pass defense

Got good pressure, but allowed Fitzpatrick to make plays under duress. Too many holes in

secondary. Young secondary showed its age. Grade: C.

Special teams

Fields dropped three punts inside Bills' 20-yard line. Kickoff returns thoroughly ordinary.

Slow to line up on Lindell's winning field goal. Grade: C.

Coaching

Putting Williams in position to throw pick near the goal line was classic bit of

overcoaching. Fish seemed to quit in closing moments.Grade: F.
