Buffalo Bills coach Perry Fewell said after practice Friday he was optimistic about defensive tackle Marcus Stroud being available for Sunday's game against Miami.

Stroud, who missed last week's game at Jacksonville with a sore knee, was able to practice

on a limited basis Friday. He's listed as questionable.

"He looked good," Fewell said. "So we feel very good about that."

Cornerback Terrence McGee (knee) was limited and will be a game-time decision.

Demetrius Bell (knee), John McCargo (calf) and Ashton Youboty (ankle) are out. Jairus Byrd

(groin) is questionable but probably will play. Chris Kelsay (shoulder) and Nic Harris (who

missed practice for personal reasons) are probable.

Fewell said guard Eric Wood was released from the hospital in Jacksonville and is back in

Buffalo recuperating from his surgery to repair his broken leg. Two titanium rods were placed

in Wood's left leg, which sustained breaks to the tibia and fibula. "Everything looks good,"

Fewell said in regard to Wood's surgery.

. . . The Dolphins likely will be without starting center Jake

Grove. He would be replaced by Joe Berger, a fifth-year veteran who would be making his first

NFL start.

. . . The Bills position coaches had longer work days Friday and

today to prepare for next week's game — on Thursday against the New York Jets.

"As coaches we'll start to prepare for the Jets [Friday] as well as [today] and we'll have

a good shell game plan ready for the coordinators," Fewell said. "I don't want the

coordinators to watch another opponent [this weekend] so they can focus on the Miami

Dolphins."

. . . The Bills added rookie defensive tackle Lonnie Harvey to the

practice squad. Listed at 342 pounds, the Morgan State product is a true nose tackle, unlike

the players at the DT spot the Bills have used the past four years.

"Three fifty," laughed Fewell when asked about Harvey's weight.

"I like him because he's a big man and when we try to knock him off the ball, it's real

tough to knock him off the ball," Fewell said. "Be it 3-4 or 4-3, he can take up two blockers,

and I really like that. It definitely helps the offense to practice against a guy with that

size and that girth. We go against those guys in New England and etcetera, so it helps us all

around."
