Miller faces shots in hard practice with Sabres
Updated: August 21, 2010, 8:02 AM
Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller put in his most extensive work in practice since suffering a high ankle sprain against the Rangers on Feb. 21.
He participated for the first 40 minutes, rested for 10 minutes on one knee at center ice and then returned for the rest of a practice that lasted one hour and 15 minutes. He was in full equipment and faced shots, showing no ill effects from his injury or his time away. He was in net longer than the other two goalies, Mikael Tellqvist and Patrick Lalime, who alternated in the other goal.
The Sabres want to see how Miller responds to Monday's workout before determining their next step. The chances appeared slim that he would be available Wednesday night to face the Florida Panthers.
