Moore misses practice with visa problems
Updated: August 21, 2010, 7:55 AM
Dominic Moore's on-ice introduction to his new teammates is going to come during a game. Maybe.
The Buffalo Sabres' newest center was still unable to join his teammates during the morning skate today. Visa problems have prohibited the Toronto native from working in the United States, but the Sabres hope everything will be finalized by 7:30 tonight when they host the
Phoenix Coyotes in HSBC Arena.
"We're anticipating him playing," Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said this morning. "We're just getting the paperwork cleared away so everything is in order for him to play tonight.
Moore was acquired from the Maple Leafs on Wednesday in exchange for a second-round draft pick. Numerous other players have been cleared to skate for their new teams in other countries, including Ales Kotalik. The former Sabres winger and native of the Czech Republic
played for Edmonton in Ottawa on Thursday.
