Cornerback Jabari Greer didn't take it personally when the Buffalo Bills opted to let him leave via free agency and sign with the New Orleans Saints in the offseason.

He said both sides parted on good terms, so there won't be any added motivation to show the Bills what they are missing when the Saints visit Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday.

"I have nothing but the highest regard for the Buffalo Bills organization," Greer said during a telephone interview this week. "I owe them so much for giving me an opportunity to play in the National Football League. The team and the fans were very good to me. I left there with only fond memories."

Greer is excited to return to the place he called home the previous five years. He is curious what it will feel like to be in the cramped visitors' locker room and experience going through the stadium tunnel with another team.

"I'll have to remind myself not to go to the wrong sideline," he joked.

Greer isn't sure how he'll be received by the Bills' fans, but he is sure of the reception he'll get from some of his former teammates.

He expects the trash talking to begin right after the opening kickoff.

"I'm sure they're going to have something to say to try and take me out of my game," Greer said, laughing. "It will probably be worse when I'm on their side of the field. But it's all in good fun because those guys are friends of mine and that's what friends and competitors do. But they know I'm a motivated guy and I will be ready to play."

Bills cornerback Terrence McGee looks forward to seeing Greer since neither have spoken since Greer signed a four-year, $20 million contract with New Orleans. Greer said he plans to contact his old friends before arriving in Buffalo.

McGee called Greer "a great teammate" who got the most of him.

"Jabari was like my motivator," McGee said. "If I was taking my tape off after practice, he would be like, 'Don't take that tape off yet! We're about to go get some weightlifting in or do some backpedals or catch some balls.' So he was always pushing me to try to get better.

"You hate to lose him because he is one of those guys who really tried to make practice fun. But it will be great seeing him. It's good to know that he's playing well and still living the dream of playing in the NFL."

The Saints signed Greer to help shore up a poor pass defense. Despite giving up a 60-yard completion in each of the first two games, the secondary has improved with the additions of Greer and veteran free safety Darren Sharper.

Backup defensive tackle John McCargo was added to the Bills' injury report on Thursday with a strained calf that limited him in practice.

Starting cornerbacks Leodis McKelvin (ankle/fibula) and McGee (ankle) were both limited Thursday. Head coach Dick Jauron said McKelvin looked a little better than McGee, but added "both were involved to some degree."

Wide receiver Josh Reed, who sat out of Wednesday's practice, was limited Thursday with an ankle injury. He was originally listed with a quad strain, which belonged to wide receiver Roscoe Parrish, who practiced fully. Rookie tight end Shawn Nelson (sprained shoulder) was also limited.

Center Geoff Hangartner's sore back progressed enough for him to return to practice on Thursday, albeit on a limited basis.

"He worked in practice after doing nothing yesterday," head coach Dick Jauron said. "He took a number of reps. Not as many as he normally would take, but he took a number of them."

The Bills announced Thursday they have extended their partnership agreement with the Pepsi Bottling Group through 2012. Pepsi has been the team's official soft drink since 1998 and has exclusive pouring rights at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
