ROSEMONT, Ill. — Special teams doomed the Rochester Americans as they dropped a 4-0 decision to the Chicago Wolves in Game Three of their first-round American Hockey League playoff series at Allstate Arena.

The Wolves struck first on an Adam Cracknell short-handed goal off a two-on-one rush. Cracknell made it 2-0 with the first of three straight power-play goals for the Wolves, who can close out the best-of-five series with a win here Friday night in Game Four (8 p.m., TWCS). After a scoreless second period, ex-NHL defenseman Keith Aucoin and Ty Rattie scored third-period goals for Chicago.
