Recap

Forty points shy of 1,000 career points, Tommy Campion pulled off the unexpected on Saturday. The Jamestown senior scored 40 points, helped by seven three-pointers as the Red Raiders beat visiting Lancaster, 79-54, in ECIC I. Campion was 14 of 26 from the floor, 7 of 14 from three-point range and five of five from the free throw line. He becomes the eighth 1,000 point scorer for Jamestown and the first since Carlo Rivera in 2010. Campion had 17 points in the first half, went off for 23 in the third quarter and played the first minute of the fourth to get the scoring milestone. Jamestown plays its next two on the road, so coach Ben Drake was happy his shooting guard got the record at home. "I'm really proud of Tommy," said coach Ben Drake. "He'not a big kid (5-9), not overly quick or athletic. He just works really really hard on his game. He's been our team manager since 4th grade and is great role model for other kids."
