Article about opening of new UB Educational Opportunity Center building on the edge of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus in downtown Buffalo. Article will run in the paper on Friday, when UB and local officials are holding a press conference to mark the completion of the $26 million, 68,000 square foot building. EOC will begin moving from 465 Washington St., its home since the early 1970s, later this month in stages and will complete the move in August. Between 80 and 90 faculty and staff will move over, and the center serves about 1,900 students each year, providing GED prep and vocational training to students who don't pay tuition but must meet income and academic eligibility.
