ANOTHER BRICK— The little things definitely take preference over the bigger things for the hero of the film “Pink Floyd: The Wall,” which gets a rare screening locally at midnight today and Saturday in the Palace Theatre, 31 Buffalo St., Hamburg. More a feature-length music video than a concert film, it includes 15 minutes of animation sequences by edgy political cartoonist Gerald Scarfe. Playing the role of Pink —not Roger Waters, but singer Bob Geldof of “Live Aid” fame.

MARKET MAKERS— Carvings for a Cause, which is turning the trees lost in the October 2006 Surprise snowstorm into art, will do a carving as part of opening-day activities Saturday at the Farmers’ Market at the Williamsville Mill, 56 E. Spring St. Also featured will be music by Judd Sunshine and children’s activities by Lovn’ Clay. The market will run from 8 a. m. to 1 p. m. every Saturday through Oct. 31.
