POINTS IN HEAVEN— Parishioners of St. John Catholic Church in Olean exceeded everyone’s wildest dreams last month when the Rev. James Vacco, parish administrator, told them that the local Warming House soup kitchen needed more meat products.
“When the secretary of the church counted the returned envelopes on the Monday of Holy Week, I was elated,” Vacco says. The donations totaled more than $2,500, enough to put meat on the table at the Warming House for the next four to five months.
Warming House has operated as an outreach and service ministry of St. Bonaventure University for 35 years and is believed to be the oldest student-run soup kitchen in the nation.

REUNION TIME—The McKinley Vocational High School Alumni Association will hold its All Alumni Picnic from 1 to 5 p. m. on June 13 in Niagara Frontier Post 1041, American Legion, 533 Amherst St.
Also on June 13 is the all-year reunion for alumni of the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. It will be from 2 to 6 p. m. at the school’s new multi-million-dollar building, Masten Avenue and East Ferry Street. For information, call 783-7527 or visit http://bavpa.net.
