BORN TO RUN—The weather should be perfect for the ninth annual Choppers for Charity&Hogs Against Hunger motorcycle run and bike and car show on Saturday, with proceeds to benefit the Food Bank of Western New York.
Registration starts at 11 a. m. at Native Pride Travel Plaza, 11359 Southwestern Blvd., Irving, with musical accompaniment from Big Wheelie and Mark “Rainman” Ferguson with Your Choice Music. Kickstands go up at 1 p. m. for the police-escorted run, led by Big Wheelie himself.
The run leads to a benefit party from 2 to 7 p. m. in Rhino’s Rock Club, 3700 Southwestern Blvd., Orchard Park, where there will be raffles for prizes including a customized 2009 Honda Rebel and music by the Mike Salerno Band and Blackest Red. FRONTIER DAYS—One of the great tales from Niagara Frontier history is the story of Mary Jemison, “The White Woman of the Genesee.” She was captured during the French and Indian War and spent the rest of her long life among the Senecas.
A day of events entitled “Remembering Mary Jemison” will be held from 11 a. m. to 6 p. m. Saturday in St. Simon’s Church, 200 Cazenovia St., near where Jemison originally was buried in South Buffalo.
The program will begin with a performance by the Buffalo Creek Dancers, followed by a reenactment with Gretchen Sepik. Jemison artifacts will be on display and speakers will include Professor Jack Erickson from Fredonia State College and Jare Cardinal, director of the Seneca Nation Museum. Tickets are $5, $10 per family. Call 603-4546.

The First Presbyterian Church of West Seneca, 2085 Union Road, holds a book and baked goods sale from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. Saturday. Part of the proceeds benefit AIDS Family Services.
Blessed Sacrament Church, 263 Claremont Ave., Town of Tonawanda, stages its Swing Into Spring Too Meat Raffle from 5 to 8 p. m. Saturday. A $5 ticket includes food, refreshments, dessert and snacks.
