ALPHA DOG — The Clarence Summer Orchestra has scored a coup for its “Come Two by Two to the Musical Zoo” concert at 7 p. m. Sunday in Clarence Town Park, 10405 Main St.

Narrating Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf” will be none other than Donna Fernandes, president of the Buffalo Zoo. Other selections include excerpts from “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Lion King.”

Admission is free. If it rains, the concert moves into Clarence High School auditorium, Main Street and Gunnville Road.

p. m., the Clarence Orchestra Association holds its annual dinner in the park clubhouse. Tickets are $20. For info, call 759-6428 or visit www.clarenceconcert.org.

MULTI-FACETED — There’s more than one attraction to catch Sunday at the North Java Fire Company picnic at 1549 Beaver Meadow Road, Java Center.

The chicken barbecue starts at noon. There’s a garden tractor pull, beginning at 1 p. m. And then there’s Bogus Otis playing blues and rock from 8 p. m. to midnight. All day long, there will be kiddie rides, games, a raffle, steamed clams and the fire company’s famous Manhattan clam chowder.

The Bennett High School Classes of 1948 and 1949 are joining forces to celebrate their 60th and 59th reunions at 5:30 p. m. Aug. 9 in Fairdale Banquet Center, 672 Wehrle Drive, Amherst. Another record turnout is expected for the annual St. Boniface-Fruit Belt reunion of students, teachers, parish priests and present and former parishioners Aug. 6 in Protocol restaurant, 6766 Transit Road, Amherst.
