We may say what we like, but consequences await

A recent letter writer asks why the American Civil Liberties Union is not defending NBA team owner Donald Sterling. Well, because there is nothing to defend.

Sterling’s right to say anything he wants, no matter how moronic, has not been abridged. The Constitution only protects our right to speak. Thankfully, it does not protect us from the consequences.
