Use volunteers, BOCES to lift graduation rates
All the recent opinions and articles about the Buffalo city schools have led me to a couple of conclusions.
Regarding the breakfast program, it would benefit everyone if parents and other adult volunteers would assist with this program.
It would get parents involved in their child’s classroom and may increase parent participation in their child’s education. This could be a win-win solution for all.
Regarding the two high schools partnering with the Boards of Cooperative Educational Services, this seems a perfect fit. What an opportunity for these students to be involved in vocational training. Academics are important, but not for everyone.
It would be a real chance for these students to graduate with usable skills.
