U.S. must enforce immigration laws

The News, in a Jan. 7 editorial, endorsed comprehensive immigration reform as a “desperately needed strategy” for dealing with the 11 million immigrants living here illegally. As a retired immigration officer, my experiences give me reason to doubt the intent of these illegals to stay here permanently. For the majority, at best, they are here to work and send funds home to their families. At worst, according to Department of Justice statistics on incarcerated illegal aliens, they are here to plunder.

After seeing the lies, deception and mismanagement that the Affordable Care Act foisted on our country, I think it would be unconscionable to allow the same administration to rewrite our immigration laws. Enforce the current laws and pray for sanity in November.
