The race card can be played two ways
A recent letter to this page, along with an op-ed column by Leonard Pitts, questioned whether President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder would be receiving the same disrespectful treatment they’re getting now had they been white. Both writers then went on to answer their own questions with a resounding no.
I must say I agree. If Obama were white, nobody would have ever heard of him, much less elected him. Do you really think an obscure senator without Oprah Winfrey in his back pocket would have taken the nomination from Hillary Clinton in 2008? If so, who do you see doing it in 2016? The race card has two sides to it.
