State employees didn’t create fiscal problems

I am a retired nurse who was employed by New York State. I worked very hard and gave 100 percent to my job. I liked what I did. I am sick and tired of people in this state, and Gov. Andrew Cuomo, looking at retired and current state employees like they are riding “the gravy train.” I worked long and hard for my retirement and benefits. I, like many others, earned them.

Why do Cuomo and some citizens blame state employees for New York’s financial woes? Are there some people who “milk” the system? Sure. But the majority of state employees work hard. Perhaps our leaders and representatives need to do a better job fiscally. The lottery was supposed to provide for education, as well as defray other costs to run the state. Where does all that money go?

Wake up, New York. Start asking Cuomo and our representatives for accountability. Perhaps they need to tighten their belts.
