School Board choices were pleasant surprise

I was totally surprised by The News’ recent endorsements of Larry Quinn and Patricia Pierce for Buffalo School Board seats. This is not to say that these two candidates aren’t worthy, but the past liberal policies of our newspaper caught me off guard. It’s about time that The News finally took a stance by actually endorsing two individuals who will, above all, help bring flexibility and continuity to the board.

Many other candidates are qualified, but The News realizes that the direction of the School Board and its hierarchy has left no doubt that the future will only become brighter when a new slate is aligned to bring about an atmosphere of professionalism by removing the tug-of-war practices and buffoonery its members have faced in the past.
