Promote sensible use of natural resources

Lately I’ve noticed numerous anti-fracking letters appearing in the column. These letters are apparently written by people well-trained in geology, as their knowledge of the subject seems unquestionable. I am pleased to have these well-meaning people defending New York State from all the wicked well drillers, who wish to despoil our fair state.

However, sometimes I wonder how they transport themselves or heat their homes. Perhaps with solar panels or by use of windmills? I know they would not use natural gas for heat or cooking, because it’s a tainted source of energy. Look, let’s be sensible. Use the resources we have to improve our fragile economy, drill for gas in an environmentally thoughtful manner and make the United States energy independent. We are fortunate to have these resources within our state.
