O’Reilly gave Obama plenty of time to talk

Good thing The News editorial board isn’t timing events at Sochi. This from the Feb. 8 “It seems to us” observations: “The president could barely get a word in edgewise during the 10-minute exchange” with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly. Actually, according to my calculations from reviewing the interview with a stopwatch, the president spoke for 6 minutes, 19 seconds and O’Reilly for 3 minutes, 4 seconds. For 34 seconds, they spoke simultaneously (23 times, not counting murmurs of assent). Perhaps to The News’ opinion-shapers, as the column heading says, it just seemed as if O’Reilly talked longer.
