Lovely Larkin Building is historical homage to city
Wow! What a great time we had at my husband, Denny’s, art opening. No, it isn’t in a gallery or in a street festival – it’s at the Larkin Building on Exchange Street in downtown Buffalo.
The space is fantastic. The work is hung in a long corridor in the beautifully redesigned, historic Larkin Building that once housed the Larkin Soap Co. and was originally designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
The building is a historical homage to all of the above and to the City of Buffalo. The workers in the building are privy to day care for their kids, restaurants, salons, banking and social activities in Larkin Square for after-work relaxation with friends and colleagues. In the summer months, there are food trucks on Tuesdays and live music on Wednesdays. The parking is plentiful and free.
If the rest of Buffalo is developed as well as the Larkin Building and Larkin Square, we are going to have a gem of a city in Western New York.
