Let’s be considerate of others at concerts

I had the pleasure of attending a concert at a local school the other evening. The concert featured many students from schools throughout the area. These students put in long hours of practice and played enjoyable music featuring many instruments, including the flute, saxophone, drums and guitar.

The evening was a huge success and a good time was had by all. I have just one complaint. I’d like to offer a suggestion to parents who feel the need to record such events. When you hold your iPhone, iPad or other recording device with arms extended in front of you, you are blocking the eyes of the person behind you. Please be considerate of the people behind you. The flashing light also is a bit of a distraction in the dark auditorium.

I would like to commend all of the children who performed. They put on a terrific performance.
