Forget about new stadium and focus on creating jobs
Oh, joy! Buffalo has graduated from third poorest city in the nation to fourth. Rochester holds third place. Yet the local and state governments expect the poor, beleaguered taxpayers to come up with most of the cash to rebuild one stadium and build a new one in the future. This for eight games played here each season.
If only the powers-that-be would have worked harder to save all the factory jobs that have left due to high taxes. The government gives big bucks to companies to locate here, but these are all high-tech jobs that most middle-class workers are not geared for. We need jobs in the blue-collar sector, not a fancy new stadium. More jobs! There would be a huge drop in crime if people were able to work.
