Don’t expect donations if you turn people away

On March 11, I called the SPCA on Ensminger Road in Tonawanda. My dog was ill and needed to be euthanized. I called this location because the Niagara County SPCA is closed on Tuesdays.

I was told this location could not help me because its policy is not to euthanize dogs from Niagara County.

Imagine my surprise and disgust when on March 19 I received correspondence from the Ensminger Road SPCA requesting financial support. How dare it solicit money from Niagara County residents only to deny them service when needed.

The SPCA Serving Erie County can’t have it both ways. It either needs to stop soliciting Niagara County residents or provide service to them on days their SPCA is closed.
