CSEA workers need to approve contract
During these difficult times, it is unrealistic that CSEA county employees rejected the latest tentative agreement with union leaders. What is wrong with these people? Don’t they realize the unemployment and suffering that the average worker encounters?
The union has virtually guaranteed jobs with very good benefits, including a generous pension. The people on unemployment and those who are looking for work would be ecstatic with those jobs.
The county should hold to its proposal. It actually provided pay increases (which most workers have not gotten in recent times) and a modest co-payment of 15 percent for health insurance. If these union workers are not happy, they can leave. It would not be difficult to fill these positions.
