‘Blue 4 Ben’ campaign brings out best in people

I am a 19-year-old college student who has witnessed some disappointing and disgusting choices and actions from others, and they break my heart. Some people are so caught up in the negativity in their lives that they emit it to everyone else.

My mother came home from the bank one day with a blue rubber bracelet and handed it to me with a story explaining the “Blue 4 Ben” fundraiser. This is something that simply warms my heart. “Blue 4 Ben” is a campaign to help raise money and awareness for a beautiful, 4-year-old boy, Ben, who is a twin and has the unfortunate diagnosis of a brain tumor.

At this point there is nothing more the professionals can do to better his condition, but the amount of support that our community is radiating for this cause is inspirational. It warms my heart to see so much compassion and support for someone they most likely don’t even know.

I think it’s important to be involved in such a great cause, even though the overall issue is devastating. I am so proud to be a part of this community, and I am so ecstatic to feel the passion and love in it.
