Blasdell restaurant deserved more respect
I take exception to the Buzz article of Oct. 15 in which the writer refers to “a joint in Blasdell” offering very little discount on food orders.
First of all, this “joint” has been serving outstanding Italian food in Blasdell for almost 50 years.
This “joint” awards yearly scholarships to student/athletes, hosts many charitable functions gratis, is a regular funeral breakfast destination, provides space for our weekly farmers market and offers many specials during the week that are better than anything offered in the Entertainment Book.
To dismiss this family owned restaurant as a “joint” diminishes the great benefit that all of us living in Blasdell and the Southtowns enjoy on a regular basis. Whenever there is a need, this family is the first to step up and offer assistance.
Show me another Italian establishment that makes an Irishman feel like one of the family. That is part of what makes this restaurant much more than a “joint.”
