Bill was introduced to repeal SAFE Act
The writer who said that no legislator has repudiated his or her vote for the SAFE Act needs to do more research. Sen. Philip Boyle voted for the SAFE Act, and less than two months later admitted that he made a mistake and co-sponsored a bill, S.3948, to repeal it.
Most legislators who voted for the SAFE Act do not seem to be proud of themselves. I have received a few mailers this year from my representatives, Assemblyman Sean Ryan and Sen. Mark Grisanti, touting their recent accomplishments. Conspicuously absent from these mailers is any mention of their votes for the SAFE Act. Perhaps they hope that their constituents will forget about the way they voted, however, we the people will make sure that our elected officials never forget about the mistake they made.
