Beating of 12-year-old wasn’t ‘kids being kids’

It was horrific to view the local TV news graphics of the 12-year-old Angola boy who was lured from his home and beaten by a 16-year-old and possibly two other boys and left in the middle of the street, where even more harm may have transpired. I am very thankful that a neighbor witnessed these vicious actions and came to the boy’s rescue.

What was much more disturbing was an Evans police lieutenant referring to the incident as not much more than boyhood mischief, saying it was “kids being kids.” It seems to me that the Evans Police Department owes the victim and his family a public apology.
