Anti-gun advocates miss point of protest

I read with interest the May 1 Another Voice written by a group of five anti-gun spokespersons. Their premise being that members of pro-gun groups like the National Rifle Association, Shooters Committee on Political Education, Second Amendment Foundation and others are not in favor of the stance these organizations are taking on behalf of the membership in the fight to protect their rights. Nothing could be further from the truth.

What these anti-gun advocates don’t understand is that the issue at hand is larger than background checks, it is about the loss of all of our constitutional rights. These folks are reminiscent of the old adage of cooking frogs. To keep them in the pot, you start with cold water and gradually turn up the heat. They will stay till cooked. These folks are drinking the liberal Kool-Aid and liking it. Problem is, their freedoms are also in jeopardy.

Look to history for the answer to what happens when citizens are disarmed and their freedoms are taken.
