Teachers union needs to adopt new attitude
I read recently that Phil Rumore and the Buffalo Teachers Federation feel they are entitled to higher wages because they are allegedly paid less than their counterparts in the suburbs. The BTF is a major cause of the dysfunction resulting in the continuing failure of the Buffalo school system. The best thing that could happen with this union would be to acquire leadership with at least 20th century thinking.
Perhaps if union members were really interested in the success of the students, they would assume a less antagonistic attitude, work to eliminate some of the dysfunction and then the public would be more sympathetic toward a salary increase.
