‘Lucy’ production was done very well
Colin Dabkowski’s review of “I Love Lucy Live on Stage” in the Sept. 22 News was, at best, a joke. He states that it has “very little to offer beyond a sort of colorized photocopy of the original.” He comments upon “the production’s threadbare conceit” and the “bizarre and unsettling series of product advertisements,” adding that it’s “merely a memory bath” that’s “utterly trapped in its era.”
Sorry to disappoint you, Colin, but the show was exactly as advertised – kind of a trip back to a different era. It was done very well, as evidenced by the standing ovation by the adult audience.
