Don’t allow neighbors to block needed hotel

Once again, progress is being halted in deference to a small, vocal group of homeowners who are opposed to the building of a new hotel in their Snyder neighborhood. This seems pretty much like a no-brainer. A new building development in an economically depressed and population-shrinking geographic region seems like a step in the right direction and welcome news.

Jobs will be created and area businesses would benefit from the new endeavor. Necessary building permits were obtained legally to begin work on land that is business-zoned. Town approval was obtained in the required procedural method. Now work has been halted. Why? Because some neighbors are concerned that hotel guests might be able to see into their back yards. Really? This is stranger than fiction.
