Cards should reflect meaning of Christmas

Even though sending Christmas cards has become costly in recent years, this is the time of the year when we try to keep in touch with old friends, neighbors and perhaps relatives who have moved away. Unfortunately, it seems the people who design the cards have completely lost touch of the true meaning of Christmas – the reason we even celebrate the season.

How sad that when I was shopping for my cards this year, the selection of religious cards was so limited. I guess it is in part due to political correctness, i.e. wishing people “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” because it might offend someone.

Thank God there are some Christian stores and various catalogs that carry a selection of religious cards. Looks like that may be the only way we can continue the tradition of greeting people with the true spirit of the season. Merry Christmas.
