Athletes should wait in line like rest of us
After moving from Buffalo recently, it was great to come back on Aug. 15. I encountered the usual delays at the Williamsville toll barrier and the construction on the 33, as expected. What I didn’t count on was to have sirens blaring and cars pulling over and further delayed for a police motorcycle escort for the visiting football team – the Minnesota Vikings in four tour buses!
What an abuse of emergency personnel and equipment for overpaid athletes who are too special to sit in traffic delays like the rest of us. Risking accidents to the public so that pampered athletes can get to their fancy hotel where they can be further catered to. When will we smarten up and not keep putting these spoiled athletes on pedestals at our financial and safety cost?
