Diocese is right to help people at Harvest House

Story tools:

I am writing in response to the reader who has given up his Catholic faith because the Diocese of Buffalo works with Harvest House to help ex-cons, drug addicts and “less desirable individuals.”

As a lifelong resident of South Buffalo, I am thankful for the compassionate work that is done at Harvest House, and as a Catholic, I am proud that the diocese is helping.

If the reader believes that people do not deserve a second chance, that sins should not be forgiven and that we should turn our backs on those in need of help, why was he ever Catholic in the first place?
