Stop catering to Senecas and start enforcing law

Story tools:

When does it end? Our governor is contemplating collecting taxes from the Indians. How many times have we heard this story? There is a law on the books—if they neglect to pay, then enforce the law. If they protest, arrest them. Our governor’s legal counsel claims it would cost $2 million a day to control any protesting by the Indians. So be it, there is a principle involved here.

If any other group or organization refused to pay taxes, it wouldn’t be an issue. The people would be arrested. It seems to me the Indians want all the other benefits from the state—public education, health aid and public works. Maybe it’s time we impose sanctions instead of catering to them.
