Make an effort to buy American-made goods
Ten years ago I mailed a letter to The News saying, “Buy American, the job you save will be your own.” Well, boy is this true. It started with tainted dog food, toys with too much lead and appliance recalls. Now it is bad drywall. Homeowners’ insurance will not cover it, the government will not cover it and we can’t send it back to China—it will not reimburse you and doesn’t want it back. Now you have to go after the contractor. Good luck.
When will this stop? It stops when we stop buying all this junk. We never had these problems when things were made here. We took pride in the work we did. It’s time for our industry to come back home. Government needs to step in and get our jobs back. Before you know it, all our soldiers will be coming home and where are all the jobs?
Look at your labels when you buy. So it costs a few pennies more, but you’re keeping Americans working and not standing in unemployment lines.
