Medicare has flaws, but those can be fixed
I watched “60 Minutes” last Sunday night. The announcer said it was going to be upsetting, and he sure didn’t lie. The program showed how easy it was to fool the government and how billions were lost each year. I hope the program wasn’t intentionally shown to hurt the chances of getting a health care bill passed this year. I am sure it gave more ammunition to the conservative right.
Being a common-sense person, it seems just having more inspectors available to stop false claims would save mega- bucks and provide that awful cost factor called a job! Just having some minimum wage earner calling the person who made the claim to see if he really made it would solve the problem. But that would be too easy.
We need health care for all. Medicare is a good program but, like any program, it has its faults. However, faults can be fixed.
