Changes are needed, but let’s act carefully

Story tools:

Seeing that the county and the country are in economic turmoil, why is intimidation needed to rush bills through when time is needed to study and see which plan is best for each situation? Legislators are told to pass the bill through or else. Or else what? The sky will fall on us? Why spend money needlessly when one can’t afford it? Why vote and pass a bill when you haven’t even read what is in it? Most people usually do their homework and weigh the pros and cons on the major choices they make.

Health care reform should start with looking into why the cost of health care has skyrocketed, and what can be done to lower it. To start, how about reducing malpractice insurance and the payouts and lowering the cost of prescriptions? Why are prescription drugs more affordable in Canada? The White House and company should make a conscious effort to make health care more affordable for everyone who doesn’t get lifetime benefits.
